For optimal performance and reliability, we recommend retaining the factory buffer and recoil spring. Please note: The FRT-MR3™ is not compatible with HK416 or BRN4 full-auto bolt carrier groups.

The MR3 has proven to be a badass option for the MR556. It runs exactly the way RB said it would. It doesn’t sacrifice the quality of the standard semi-auto mode just to deliver that wickedly awesome FRT mode. In fact, the semi-auto mode is so nice that the Rare Breed FRT-MR3 belongs in every HK MR556 and MR223. Come on HK, get these guys on the phone and cut a deal.

I’m an HK guy, so I’m usually pretty hesitant to mess with anything that already works. The MR3 changed my mind. It feels substantial, intentional, and completely at home in the MR556. Even normal semi shooting feels like Rare Breed actually cared about building a legit semi-auto trigger first.
Then you give that selector one more click and the MR556 turns into German engineering on spring break. This thing is an absolute blast.

The operation feels deliberate, the controls integrate naturally with the rifle, and the standard semi-auto pull is a meaningful improvement in its own right.
The third position is obviously what gets most of the attention, and it does not disappoint. But what makes the MR3 exceptional is that the rest of the trigger does not feel compromised in order to provide that capability. I threw this savage into my MR556 and damn it if I am not impressed. This thing is built to run. You can tell that RB didn’t cut any corners at all and this thing wasn’t rushed to market. You can tell they took their time because this thing is so well built and feels solid as hell. FRT mode is lit AF but even outside FRT mode, the normal trigger pull is good enough to be a real upgrade on its own. This thing is so tough!

I was mainly looking for a solid forced reset trigger option without having to change the feel of the platform. The RB FRT keeps the HK controls familiar. The mechanical feel of the FRT in regular semi-auto mode is much sharper than the original. Rare Breed nailed this one! The selector movement is positive, and the whole unit feels like it was meant to be. The machining and finish are clean, and the controls feel tight and purposeful. Bravo Zulu Rare Breed!

Rare Breed got the important details right on this model. The MR3 is better designed than the factory OEM HK trigger. I’ve got mine running in an MR556 with a Huxwrx Flow556k. It does not come across as a generic AR trigger adapted to fit. It was obvious that the trigger was seriously well built before I even installed it. But after installation, it proved to be a work horse as soon as I started sending rounds downrange. I am impressed to say the least.

I already had the curved FRT-MR3 and was skeptical about the flat version. I’ve always been a little hesitant to try a flat trigger. Well, I was wrong. After giving it a shot, I feel like the flat trigger blade provides for more of a noticeably consistent trigger pull. Just like the curved MR3, the Semi-auto mode with the flat trigger blade is exceptional. It is crisp and repeatable. Forced reset mode is incredible. I love this trigger!

I am so excited to have this FRT-MR3 installed in my MR556. I finally took it to the range last weekend and the results were outstanding. The trigger functions perfectly in all three positions. Of course, safe is safe. That would be a bad one to mess up. Semi-auto is better than the OEM factory trigger. I’ve been shooting HK rifles for over a decade and the FRT-MR3 is the best trigger upgrade I’ve ever installed in any of them. Semi-auto mode is genuinely better than factory. In FRT mode, the MR556 is transformed. I run mine with a Huxwrx Flow556k and I absolutely love it. It breaks my heart to see so many other so called “forced reset trigger companies” manufacturing and selling trash. Most of them haven’t designed anything. They haven’t created anything. They haven’t innovated anything. They’re all knocking each other off and selling the same trash at dirt cheap prices. For many of these fly-by-nighters, it’s a race to the bottom. I will not disagree that Rare Breed products are expensive but once you get your hands on one, you will quickly see the difference. These guys have put so much time and energy into design, development, and production. If you want quality, buy Rare Breed! These guys are the real deal!

My MR556 has never been more fun to shoot than it is with the FRT-MR3. The trigger pull in standard semi is beautiful. FRT mode on this rifle is smooth and manageable even in rapid strings of fire. Installation was simple and only took me about 15 minutes. I am extremely proud of this rifle. I’ve got one of the nicest rifles available in the market and it’s running the nicest trigger as well. I installed the Rare Breed MR3 in my HK MR556 A4 and tool it to the range this past Saturday for the first time.
This thing absolutely rips! In the semi automatic setting, it is a better trigger than the factory HK. I passed it around to a number of different folks to give them an opportunity to do some mag dumps. It just ran. It did not matter who was shooting it or if it was braced on the magazine as a bipod etc. She just ran.
I will be getting a second one and building out a second MR 556.
