FRT-SG3™
Two-Stage (3-Position) Forced Reset Trigger for the B&T SPC9, SPC45, GHM9 and GHM45.
The first drop-in, forced reset trigger compatible with B&T SPC9, SPC45, GHM9 and GHM45. No gunsmithing, fitting, or machining required.
Take your B&T SPC9/SPC45/GHM9/GHM45 to the next level with the official Rare Breed Triggers FRT-SG3™. This drop-in, duty-grade 3-position Forced Reset Trigger (Safe/Semi/FRT®) is 100% manufactured and assembled in the USA and designed specifically for the SPC/GHM platforms. The cam mechanism properly resets and locks the trigger, and a custom housing drops right into the appropriate B&T lowers. The FRT-SG3™ includes a 3-position ambidextrous B&T style safety selector and B&T style hammer and trigger axle pins for a secure, hassle-free installation.
Performance on the Range
Enhance your shooting experience with the FRT-SG3™ Forced Reset Trigger. Designed to accelerate follow-up shots while remaining within legal parameters, the innovative Forced Reset system resets the trigger after each shot, enabling faster, more consistent firing. Each trigger pull fires one round, ensuring full legal compliance while delivering improved speed and performance. Perfect for competitive shooting, tactical training, or maximizing your firearm’s potential.
Innovative Design and Features
- 3-Position Functionality: The FRT-SG3™ features Safe, Semi, and Forced Reset modes, controlled via a 3-position, ambidextrous safety selector. Whether you’re focused on precision shooting or rapid-fire drills, this system adapts to your needs, offering versatility for both left- and right-handed shooters.
- Effortless Installation: Designed for easy installation on B&T lowers, the FRT-SG3™ includes hammer and trigger axle pins, providing secure attachment and preventing unwanted movement during extended use. The ambidextrous safety selector seamlessly integrates into any B&T lower receiver.
Two-Stage Semi-Automatic Mode & Single-Stage FRT® Mode
- Semi-Automatic Mode: In Semi-Automatic mode, the trigger provides two distinct stages during the trigger travel. The first stage, approximately 2.5 lbs of pull weight, can be referred to as “take-up.” The second stage is a crisp “wall” requiring an additional 2 lbs of pressure to break. This results in a very smooth, crisp 4–4.5 lb trigger pull that allows for predictable, controlled, and extremely fast follow-up shots.
- Forced Reset (FRT®) Mode: In FRT® mode, the trigger provides a heavier 5–5.5 lb single-stage pull weight throughout the entire length of travel.
Durable Construction for Long-Lasting Performance
Crafted from high-quality materials, including 7075 anodized aluminum and heat-treated S7 steel, the FRT-SG3™ is built to endure heavy use. This robust construction ensures reliability and longevity, allowing you to push your SPC/GHM to its limits with confidence.
Compatibility
The FRT-SG3™ functions with B&T SPC9, SPC45, GHM9 and GHM45 platforms. The FRT-SG3™ is compatible with the Lingle Industries lower, however you will also need to purchase either of the 3-position AR selectors available on our parts page. You can choose from our 3-Position Ambidextrous Selector for the FRT-15L3/C3 or our 3-Position Mil-Spec Selector (0/90/180) for the FRT-15L3/C3. In addition, you will need to use Mil-Spec Hammer and Trigger Pins or Anti Walk Pins. The FRT-SG3™ is NOT COMPATIBLE with the B&T APC platform.
Unmatched Speed and Control
The FRT-SG3™ is ideal for shooters seeking speed and precision. By mechanically resetting the trigger after each shot, then locking the trigger from being pulled until the BCG returns to battery, this system allows for faster follow-up shots without needing advanced techniques. The forced reset cam mechanism ensures the trigger returns to the non-firing position after each round, requiring the shooter to pull the trigger again, offering full control over each shot.

I just got my SG3 a couple weeks ago. Got it installed within minutes from the time it was delivered. Installation was simple. I don’t think I would have had any problems but having RB’s installation video to reference just made it that much easier. Luckily I live on some land and don’t need to visit a range. I walked straight out the back door and dumped one mag after another with no issue whatsoever. Eazy peazy mac and cheesy!
S Harrison –
There’s a whole world of firearms beyond the AR-15, and it puts the biggest damn smile on my face that Rare Breed has manufactured such specialized triggers for other platforms. But most of all, I’m smiling because they did it for my B&T. I will smile for many months to come!
Adam –
The SG3 is amazing! It has completely transformed my GHM9. The two-stage semi-auto trigger is a step up from the OEM trigger and having FRT mode is a game changer. Rare Breed has given al of us B&T owners a way to improve something that is already awesome! Thank you Rare Breed!
Evan –
I truly don’t think people get it. The two-stage trigger isn’t simply a heavier single-stage trigger. The initial take-up and subsequent break are distinct. Rare Breed put in some serious work to build an amazing trigger for the SPC. The FRT-SG3 has an unbelievably awesome two-stage trigger in standard semi while providing a separate single-stage forced-reset function in the third position. The Swiss built this amazing platform and then some Texans put some cowboy in it. Nuff said!
George –
Some shooters are particular about the feel of a two-stage trigger. Others are primarily interested in forced reset. The SG3 doesn’t require those preferences to be mutually exclusive, and that’s what makes it so special. That said, I couldn’t be happier that Rare Breed put the SPC platform so high up on it’s list of to-dos. This trigger has changed by SPC.
S Blake –
The SPC45 doesn’t get nearly as much attention in aftermarket trigger discussions as the more common 9mm platforms. The FRT-SG3 changes the available options by bringing both two-stage semi-auto operation and forced-reset functionality to compatible SPC45 firearms. It’s good to see the .45 platform included because running the SPC45 in FRT mode is a completely different animal. IYKYK.
Julian (verified owner) –
The Rare Breed FRT SG3 works perfectly in the B&T GHM9. The machining and engineering that goes into these triggers is outstanding! If you are having feeding issues with the Glock mag B&T lowers, use the magazines with the orange followers. Well worth the money. No special (expensive) machining required, just drop in and let freedom ring!
Ruben V. –
I’ve only had it a couple weeks now but my SG3 sits perfectly in my B&T SPC9. Drop-in install. No fitting. The two-stage feel is great.
Fletcher –
The SG3 gets a 5 star review from this GHM45 owner. It’s a well-made trigger and runs beautifully. Yep, I’m happy.
MS –
I didn’t think it was possible to be more of a B&T snob. But with just a little help from Rare Breed, I’m even more of a snob today than I was yesterday. The FRT-SG3 was the boost I needed and I’m here for it. I’ll be shouting from the mountain tops just how much badassery is packed into this little trigger housing!
Bobby –
I ordered the FRT-SG3 and installed it in my B&T GHM9 the same weekend. I am truly thrilled with how well it runs. I don’t know how Rare Breed continues to do it, but this is a top tier quality product.
Graham –
Dude! The SG3 brings a whole new kinda functionality to my GHM. And, it’s the kinda functionality that goes BRRRRRRTTT….
Hugo –
If you already own an SPC9, the FRT-SG3 is the kind of upgrade that can change what you reach for when it’s time to party. The two-stage trigger pull in semi-auto is premium quality and gives you something useful even when you aren’t using the FRT position. That matters because the third position shouldn’t have to be the only reason to like the trigger. The SG3 brings something legit to the table in either mode. These guys did it right!
Pete –
I’ve got plenty of upgrades that I like, but the SG3 is one of the few that actually made me want to spend more time shooting the gun. The trigger feels great, the selector feels normal, and the third position is just a ton of fun. My B&T was already one of my favorites. The SG3 just moved it to the front of the line.
Mike –
These boys weren’t playin when they designed the SG3. This pony will run and I am all about it. It is high octane!
Austin –
Glad the GHM45 gets some attention here! I like seeing it named right alongside the 9mm models. The SG3’s two-stage design gives me another reason to appreciate the idea. The .45 folks deserve a little room in the conversation too.
Mason –
I told myself I absolutely did not need a $525 trigger for an already expensive B&T. That argument lasted about two days. Now I own an SG3 and have moved on to explaining to myself why technically this was a financially responsible decision. All the happiness, no regrets.
Travis –
One detail I really appreciate about the SG3 is the selector. On a three-position system, the controls are a bigger part of the experience than people sometimes give them credit for. Rare Breed kept the B&T-style ambidextrous arrangement, and that helps the entire system feel natural on the platform.
There are plenty of products where you can tell exactly which component was added afterward. The SG3 doesn’t give me that impression. Everything speaks the same design language.
Dean –
I am excited to have gotten my hands on one of these. The SG3 is phenomenal.
Garrett –
I’m pretty selective about what I change on my B&Ts. They’re expensive firearms, and I don’t see much sense in replacing parts unless the change actually brings something worthwhile to the table. The Rare Breed SG3 absolutely does.
What I appreciate most is how well designed, built, and complete the trigger feels. I came for the 3rd position but am happiest with the quality of the 2nd position. The SG3 adds a completely new dimension to the gun while still maintaining the character that made me buy a B&T in the first place.
Chase –
The SG3 impressed me because it doesn’t feel like a forced-reset mechanism that happens to work in a B&T. It feels like a complete B&T trigger system that also happens to offer forced reset. The two-stage semi operation is so damn nice that I venture to say every B&T owner should have one of these in their gun. I know that Rare Breed is in the forced reset game but damn if they haven’t also produced one of the best two-stage semi-auto triggers I’ve ever had the pleasure of running. My hat’s off to those guys!
Logan –
Just recently picked up and installed an SG3 into my B&T SPC9 and now I understand what all the noise is about. Great trigger in semi and it is just plain ridiculous in the 3rd position. My B&T is happy. My ammo stash is filing for divorce.
TG –
Man, Rare Breed got this one right! My B&T was already one of my favorites, but the SG3 gave it a whole new personality. Great in semi, an absolute riot in FRT. I’m excited to see what you have in store for us next year!
WC –
The SG3 gives my GHM9 one heck of a come up. Semi has two clear stages, and both are awesome! I’m all smiles.
T_Mac –
The SG3 was exactly the upgrade I was hoping for. The two-stage pull in semi is surprisingly better than I expected, and the entire system complements the quality of the B&T extremely well. The third position is just the very entertaining bonus.
HB –
I’ve made handful of upgrades to my B&T, and some have been more noticeable than others. The SG3 is the most significant hands down. The two-stage semi pull gives the gun a much more refined feel, and the entire trigger system feels appropriate for a firearm at this price point. I originally bought it because I wanted the FRT capability. After spending time with it, I appreciate the trigger just as much in semi. That was the unexpected part for me. Rare Breed did a seriously good job with this one.
Cody_P –
I’m enjoying the new SG3 in my GHM9. The trigger pull in semi feels great and the reset is top notch. Third position go fast is tons of fun. The overall look of the trigger is also nicely done. A pretty easy thumbs-up from me.
Chappy –
The SG3 is everything my B&T SPC9 was missing. I have always been extremely partial to my SPC9 because it’s the nicest, most Gucci gun I’ve got. But even saying that, I’ve always felt that it was missing the key piece of DNA that it was originally intended to have. Well, thanks to Rare Breed and their new FRT-SG3, it now has that missing DNA. The two-stage trigger is next level nice. The first stage is beautiful and the break is so crisp. This trigger will never leave this gun. Done, done and done!
Colt Sullivan –
I made the mistake of trying the other “alternative” before buying the SG3. There is a night and day difference between the two. There isn’t a comparison. The other trigger looked like somebody took an existing design, modified it until it would fit the platform, made a changes, and called it finished. Mine wasn’t even properly finished. Some of the modified parts appeared to have been spray painted afterward. For the money, I expected an engineered product, not some bullshit science project.
The SG3 is the complete opposite. Rare Breed purpose-built this trigger for the platform, and you can tell. The design, operation, and overall execution feel like one cohesive system rather than a collection of modifications. Lesson learned. From here forward, I’m sticking with Rare Breed for my forced-reset triggers. They’re the OGs who fought the fight, did the work, and continue to engineer and build the best products that others seem to be chasing. I’d rather buy the real deal than somebody else’s half baked attempt to catch up. Lesson learned!
Hendo –
Rare Breed absolutely nailed the SG3. The two-stage pull in semi is as good if not better than the highest quality triggers on the market. And, the entire trigger has the kind of mechanical quality that matches the B&T platform.
And then there’s that third position. Flip the selector over and all that Swiss sophistication suddenly decides it wants to party. The SG3 takes an already excellent B&T and gives it a completely different personality. Rare Breed is on one heck of a roll.
Chase –
I am super happy with the new RB SG3. I have just recently installed it in my GHM9. The semi pull has two clear stages, and I like the break. It feels well made all around. Good work on this one. Thanks guys!
Brian –
Put the SG3 in my B&T SPC9 today. The B&T-specific setup is pretty slick. These guys are on fire with their design and execution.
Caleb –
The FRT-SG3 is an exceptionally well-executed upgrade for the GHM45. What impressed me most is how naturally it integrates with the platform. The two-stage pull in semi is controlled and predictable, while the overall operation has the precise mechanical feel I expect to be matched with the quality of B&T. Nothing about the SG3 feels adapted or compromised. It feels engineered specifically for this firearm. The third position adds an entirely different capability that brings this platform to life. In my opinion, the SG3 completes the GHM45.
Dylan –
My dad is one of those guys who already has everything, which makes birthday shopping nearly impossible. He has an SPC45 that he absolutely loves, so for his birthday last week I decided to get him the SG3. Safe to say, I finally got the old man something he didn’t already have. The old man was smiling like a kid in a candy store. The trigger feels like it belongs in the SPC45, and the third position definitely made this one of my better birthday decisions. So what do you buy the man who has everything? Apparently, you buy him a Rare Breed FRT. 5 Stars!
Ethan –
The SG3 has been an excellent upgrade to my GHM9. The trigger has a precise, deliberate feel and the operation is well refined. The controls integrate naturally with the platform, and the performance is very consistent. It is a premium trigger for a premium firearm, and in my opinion, the two are very well matched.
Garrett –
Put the SG3 in my SPC9 and it was an immediate improvement. Semi-auto is really nice but FRT mode is fire! The SPC9 already makes for a lot of fun but with the SG3, now it’s on a whole different level! Rare Breed for the win!
Jason –
Didn’t realize my GHM45 had so much in common with sleeping beauty but after getting the SG3 stalled, the gun woke right up like it had been kissed with perfection. Semi is clean and crisp, the reset feels great, and the whole setup feels like it came from B&T this way. That third position though… it turns the gun into a completely different animal. Great trigger, great fit, and way too much fun.
Logan –
I’m an accountant, not a firearms expert, and I only get to the range a couple weekends a month. That said, I know quality when I see it. I just got the new SG3 installed into my SPC. It is smooth, consistent, and feels like it belongs. Semi is excellent, and the third position puts a pretty big smile on my face. Money well spent.
MReed –
Put the SG3 in my GHM9 and it feels right at home. Semi is crisp and refined, the reset is clean, and everything feels well built for hard use. Hit the third position and things get fun real quick. Excellent trigger and a perfect match for the GHM9. Everyone that has an SPC or GHM has gotta try this FRT.
Ryan –
The SPC9 was already my favorite gun in my entire collection, but the Rare Breed FRT-SG3 has taken it to another level. The two-stage pull in semi is so fricken smooth and the break is fricken clean. This FRT feels like it belongs in the gun. Fit, finish, selector movement, and reset are all exactly what I would expect in a premium setup. Then you hit that third position and the personality changes in a hurry. Fast, smooth, and an absolute blast to shoot. I am over the moon happy with my decision! Thank you Rare Breed!
Alex –
I installed the FRT-SG3 in my GHM9, and it feels like the trigger this platform should have been born with. The two-stage pull in semi is clean, predictable, and a significant improvement over the factory trigger. The quality is top notch, and everything about the trigger feels purpose-built. FRT mode is smooth and controlled, and the entire package feels extremely well engineered. The SG3 is not inexpensive, but neither is the GHM9. In my opinion, this is an upgrade worthy of the gun.
RMitchell –
Great trigger and exactly what I was hoping for. Installation wasn’t as easy as I would have hoped for. I’m sure it will be easier when Rare Breed adds an installation video to their installation video webpage. That said, it’s been flawless so far. Rare Breed makes some seriously good stuff and their new SG3 is no exception. It is perfection. Would absolutely buy again.
Elliot C –
This FRT is ridiculously perfect! Fit and finish are excellent and it runs exactly like it should. Best upgrade anyone could make to the platform. Couldn’t be happier with it.
Archer –
Been waiting for something like this for my B&T and Rare Breed absolutely delivered. Got it installed, hit the range, and pretty much had a grin on my face the rest of the day. It is a must have for anyone running B&Ts.
EP –
I just picked up an FRT-SG3 about a week ago. Got it installed into my SPC9 and the difference it makes is undeniable. It is everything that this platform needed and exactly what it deserved. The trigger pull in semi feels smooth as silk and the break is crisp like a thin piece of glass. And of course, the FRT mode is everything that this platform was missing. The attention to detail along with the overall build quality are excellent. Everything feels extremely well made. Very impressed with this trigger and with Rare Breed in general.
Tyler –
Not gonna lie, this thing completely changed my B&T. If you have a B&T SPC or GHM, you have gotta get one of these. You’re simply doing yourself an injustice to not pick one up. It is an absolute must have!
Dawson –
Put the SG3 in my GHM9 and I’m seriously impressed. The semi-auto pull is clean and predictable, and the FRT mode is incredibly smooth. Everything feels like it was actually designed around the B&T platform instead of adapted to fit it. Expensive trigger, but the quality is top notch. I will be recommending this FRT to all of my friends that run B&T’s
Austin –
This new B&T FRT is an absolute hammer. Runs smoother than a sewing machine and flat-out eats. I couldn’t be happier buying from the folks that had the guts to stand up and fight for forced reset triggers instead of just riding somebody else’s coattails.
Everybody and their brother wants to copy Rare Breed these days. They’ll sling mud, talk big, and try every gimmick in the book, but when it’s time to put up or shut up, they just ain’t on the same level. Most are selling cheap knock-offs or flashy gimmicks that don’t hold a candle to the real thing.
Rare Breed is the original. Always has been. Always will be. You can’t fake being the OG. Like they say… they hate us ’cause they ain’t us.
Rare Breed is the real deal.
Wyatt –
The new B&T FRT is an impressive piece of engineering. From the moment you handle it, it’s obvious that a great deal of thought went into its design. The machining is precise, the fit and finish are excellent, and the overall quality is outstanding. Once installed, it operates with exceptional smoothness and consistency.
What stands out most is that this FRT was clearly designed specifically for the B&T platform. Every detail seems intentional, resulting in a product that feels purpose-built from the ground up.
Rare Breed has set a very high standard with this FRT. It combines thoughtful design, quality manufacturing, and outstanding performance into a single package. I have been genuinely impressed with how well it performs and greatly appreciate the level of craftsmanship that went into creating it. I’d like to raise my glass to you guys.
Crazy Larry –
The new FRT-SG3 is straight-up insanity! Dropped one in my GHM and this thing woke up like it got struck by lightning. Feels like I soaked this bad boy in smelling salts for a week, fed it a steady diet of black coffee, and turned it loose.
My only complaint? I should’ve bought two so I could run these puppies akimbo style. Damn, it’s awesome to be this awesome!
FREEEEEDOMMMMMM!!
Clinton J –
I have a handful of your FRTs. This was definitely a little harder to install than your FRT-15L3, FRT-15C3, and your FRT-RD3 but overall, it wasn’t horrible. That said, it would be really nice if you guys could get an install video added to your collection. Now to the good part. The new Rare Breed SG3 is all sorts of awesome! It is so awesome. It couldn’t be anymore awesome. Dare I say it’s perfect! I am so happy that I was able to snatch one up within the first few days of them being available. I cannot wait to see what else you have coming for other B&Ts. Well done Rare Breed! You guys are the OG!
Stephen J –
I just installed the FRT-SG3 into my GHM9 and ohhhh myyyy goodness. This trigger is exactly what this platform needed. This firearm runs so beautifully with this FRT installed. I am amazed and will undoubtedly be buying every single FRT that you guys put out for B&T. I gotta say, I couldn’t have been more excited when I heard about RBT’s collaboration with B&T. You guys are the real deal!
James R (verified owner) –
Runs like a top. I may or may have not been so excited I threw the can on it for a midnight function test in my backyard flower bed. Ran like the real McCoy.
Hai N (verified owner) –
All I can say is Whoa!!! Like the last reviewer says, the safety selector was the trickiest part. You can push the plunger under the safety cam through the takedown pin opening with a small tool of your choice on the ejection port side. Idaho2a on YouTube has a good video on the removal of the safety selector. I’m not mechanically inclined with guns whatsoever and I got this thing installed with basic tools. As for function, this thing rips!! The headache free installation and lightning fast shipping (they shipped this on a Saturday) makes it worth the premium price. You get what you pay for. I have no regrets on the purchase and will get one for MR556 next.
Donnie (verified owner) –
I received mine today installation is pretty straightforward although they probably need to post an installation video. The hardest part is feeding the safety selector passed the detents. The trigger functions flawlessly and the rate of fire on my GHM9c with a dead air sandman is insanity. Don’t hesitate, just buy it. I didn’t think they could make anything better than the SP5 trigger they might have with this new one for the GHM and SPC platform.
Roger –
OMG! You guys finally did it! I just placed an order for two and cannot wait to get them in the mail. This is gonna be epic!
